Letter From Our President For 2026-2027

Dear Members, Friends, Sponsors and Supporters of the North Jersey Water Conference,

On behalf of the Executive Board and the entire North Jersey Water Conference, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to another successful year for our organization.

Whether you attended a dinner meeting, participated in a training program, exhibited at our Vendor Expo, supported the Ad Journal, joined us at the Flo Classic, attended one of our social events, volunteered your time, served on a committee, sponsored an event, or simply renewed your membership, you played a part in our success.

The North Jersey Water Conference has been bringing water professionals together since 1942. While our industry has changed tremendously during that time, the value of bringing people together to learn from one another, build relationships and advance the profession remains as important as ever.

Over the past year, we have worked hard to build upon that tradition while continuing to move the Conference forward.

Our calendar has been full — from technical and educational programs to the Vendor Expo, Date Night, Holiday Banquet, President's Party, Go-Kart Night, the Annual Membership Picnic and our 37th Flo Classic Charity Golf Outing. These events are more than dates on a calendar. They provide opportunities for operators, administrators, engineers, vendors, regulators and other water professionals to develop relationships that often last throughout their careers.

We have also continued to invest in the next generation of our water community through the John "Jack" Ferraro Memorial Scholarship Grant, while our charitable efforts associated with the Flo Classic have now contributed more than $200,000 to scholarships and charitable causes over the years.

At the same time, we have been looking closely at how NJWC can better serve today's membership.

We have expanded our membership options to make participation more accessible to municipalities, utilities, vendors, retirees, new members and others who want to become involved. We are strengthening our outreach to water-system administrators and superintendents, developing opportunities for Young Professionals, improving our membership and administrative systems, and modernizing the way the Conference communicates with its members.

That modernization includes improvements to our website and member communications, more efficient registration and invoicing systems, and continued development of an NJWC mobile app designed to put schedules, registration information, announcements, reminders, photos and Conference updates directly into the hands of our members.

None of this replaces what has made NJWC successful for more than eight decades. It strengthens it.

My vision for the future of the North Jersey Water Conference can be summed up in four words:

Connection. Training. Tradition. Momentum.

Connection means continuing to bring every part of the water community together and creating an environment where relationships can grow.

Training means expanding the educational value we provide and exploring new opportunities to help our members earn continuing education credits and stay ahead of the challenges facing our industry.

Tradition means protecting the character, friendships and history that make the North Jersey Water Conference unique.

And Momentum means refusing to become complacent. We should always be asking what we can improve, whom we are not reaching, what new value we can provide and what we can do today to ensure that NJWC remains strong for the next generation.

There is still plenty of work ahead of us, and that is a good thing.

We want to continue growing our membership, expand participation from municipal leaders and operators, create more opportunities for younger professionals to become involved, strengthen our educational programming, improve our technology and communications, support our scholarship program, and continue making NJWC one of the most valuable professional organizations serving New Jersey's water community.

Most importantly, I want NJWC to remain an organization that belongs to its members.

The accomplishments of this past year did not happen because of any one person. They happened because people volunteered, attended, sponsored, advertised, exhibited, shared ideas, challenged us to improve and continued to believe in what this organization represents.

To our Executive Board, committee members, past presidents, municipal and utility members, vendors, sponsors, advertisers and friends of the Conference: thank you.

And to every organization represented in the pages of this Ad Journal, thank you for investing in the North Jersey Water Conference. Your support directly helps us continue our educational programs, scholarships, events and service to the water community.

I am proud of what we have accomplished together, but I am even more encouraged by where we are going.

The North Jersey Water Conference has a tremendous history behind it.

Together, we are making sure it has an equally strong future.
